An established clinical specialist in epidemiology and population medicine, Jackie combines dual accreditation in general practice and public health medicine to provide expertise in health care quality and commissioning.
After graduating from Newcastle Medical School, Jackie initially trained as a GP in Cumbria and worked as a GP Principal in Northumberland before specialising in Epidemiology & Public Health. With over over 25 years’ experience in specialist public health, including 14 years as a Consultant in the south of the region, leading on strategy, health care quality, long term conditions, commissioning and health improvement, Jackie is also a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health and has lectured in epidemiology and public health at Newcastle University.
Jackie continues her research interests, including publishing in high impact journals and continues in clinical practice as a sessional GP, ensuring her specialist work is grounded in the current health care context.
